The early days of motherhood are filled with connection, learning, and quiet moments with your baby. In honor of National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, I wanted to share a look at a series of sessions that beautifully captured the bond of those fleeting, nurturing moments between mother and baby.

The Early Days of Motherhood and Connection
Feeding your baby, whether through breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, is such a personal and meaningful part of the newborn stage. It’s not always easy, but it’s often filled with moments of closeness, patience, and deep connection.

Documenting the Feeding Journey
These images were created during a set of intimate mini sessions designed to document those feeding moments in a simple, natural way. My goal was to create space for mothers to slow down, be present with their baby, and preserve this chapter of their story.

Newborn Photography in Metro Detroit
As a newborn photographer based in Shelby Township and serving families throughout Metro Detroit, these are the kinds of moments I’m always drawn to real, connected, and unique to each family. The way your baby fits in your arms, the way you’re learning each other, the quiet rhythm of those early days… it all deserves to be remembered.

Breastfeeding Awareness Month is a beautiful reminder to support mothers in whatever their journey looks like, and to honor the care, strength, and love that goes into those early weeks. For additional support and education around infant feeding, resources like La Leche League International can be incredibly helpful for new mothers.
If you’re expecting and want to document this season with your baby, I offer newborn photography sessions designed to gently capture these natural, meaningful moments.
